August 28, 2023Position Title: Intensive In-Community Therapist (“Independent” Contractor)
Reports To: Clinical Director and Director of Operations
I. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will serve high-risk children and families involved the Child System of Care (CSOC), Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP) and/or Mobile Response to provide clinical services.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) provide services primarily in client homes. Travel to client homes and other locations.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor will schedule sessions at times that are convenient for children and families, and when problems are likely to occur, including evenings and weekends
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will assess safety, structure the environment and use clinical strategies designed to promote safety.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will provide a range of clinical, concrete and advocacy services to family members that are consistent with the family’s values, learning styles, lifestyle, circumstances and culture.
II. PROFESSIONALISM:
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will respects others’ professional opinions and tolerates a range of feelings.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will be able to give and receive constructive criticism.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will perform required tasks according to Hope Therapeutic Services, LLC philosophy, policies and procedures.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will be courteous, approachable, and cooperative towards others and conducts self in a mature, competent, confident, and respectful manner.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will understand and adhere to confidentiality rights of clients, co-workers and agency, consistent with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), and protects personal health information in written, verbal and electronic forms.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will be punctual for client appointments, meetings, etc.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will use good judgment, practices ethical decision-making, and explores all options in problem solving.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will adheres to paperwork timeframes and deadlines.
III. CODE OF CONDUCT:
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will limit interactions with clients, to those necessary to perform an employee’s job functions.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will promote appropriate physical contact with consumers.
- Intensive In-Community (“Independent” Contractor) will not transport clients in personal vehicle
SPECIFICATIONS:
*Must have valid New Jersey state driver’s license
Education/Certification: LSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC, and LMFT.
Experience: Proven ability to work with clients, other professionals and para-professionals in diverse communities.
Skills and Abilities: Ability to create a warm, non-threatening therapeutic atmosphere, ability to provide non-judgmental responses, ability to counsel adolescents/children and families, ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Professional Characteristics: Open, warm, empathic, attentive listener, self-aware, ethical, creative, organized, flexible, open to criticism, patient, responsible, able to work independently, mature, self- motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic.
Work Environment/Physical Demands: The individual must possess the ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of up to or in excess of 50 pounds.
